Integration gives financial institutions access to Convera’s global payments network and FX expertise while allowing them to retain control of the customer relationship

NEW ORLEANS, November 2, 2026 – Avalo, the payment and treasury infrastructure company behind Ionfi by Avalo, today announced an integration with Convera, a global leader in commercial payments, that will expand the international payment and foreign exchange capabilities available to financial institutions across Latin America.

Through the integration, financial institutions using Ionfi by Avalo will be able to initiate international wire payments through Avalo’s platform, with Convera processing those payments through its global network. Participating institutions will be onboarded directly by Convera while continuing to manage their customer relationships through their existing operating model.

Financial institutions across Latin America are responding to growing customer demand for faster, more transparent international payments. However, building and maintaining the infrastructure, market connectivity and specialist capabilities required to support those services can be complex and costly.

Avalo is addressing this challenge by connecting Ionfi by Avalo with Convera’s global payments and FX capabilities. Avalo’s financial-institution customers gain a more direct route to international services, without having to build and maintain every component independently.

“Financial institutions across Latin America want to expand their international payment capabilities without adding unnecessary complexity,” said Meaghan Riley, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at Convera. “By bringing Convera’s global payment network and foreign exchange expertise to Ionfi by Avalo, we are helping institutions serve more of their customers’ cross-border needs while retaining the customer relationships that differentiate them.”

“Avalo is giving mid-sized financial institutions a practical way to expand their international services without recreating the infrastructure of a global bank,” said Stephen Coburn, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Avalo. “By integrating Convera’s capabilities into Ionfi by Avalo, we can help institutions compete for more of their customers’ international business while continuing to own the customer experience and relationship.”

Representatives from Avalo and Convera will meet with financial institutions from across the region at FELABAN 2026 in Lima, Peru, from November 3–6, where Avalo will showcase the new international payment capabilities.
